- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, activate yeast with warm milk and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the dough and shape into a festive braid or round loaf. Place on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For a sweeter loaf, add a sprinkle of sugar or glaze after baking.
- Use your favorite dried fruits and nuts for personalized flavor.
