Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices of sturdy bread (such as sourdough or Texas toast)
- 4 slices of crispy cooked bacon
- 4 large eggs, scrambled
- 4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sliced tomato, avocado, or hot sauce for extra flavor
Instructions
- Start by cooking the bacon until crispy and set aside. Scramble the eggs in a bowl, season with salt and pepper, then keep ready for cooking. Gather your bread slices and cheese slices for easy assembly.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt a teaspoon of butter, and pour in the beaten eggs. Stir gently until the eggs are fully cooked but still moist. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Lay two slices of bread on a flat surface. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each, then add the scrambled eggs and bacon. Cover with the remaining bread slices.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Carefully transfer the assembled sandwiches into the skillet. Grill each side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese melts. Press lightly with a spatula to ensure even grilling.
Notes
- Use thick-cut bread for sturdy handling of fillings.
- Cook bacon until crispy to add crunch and flavor.
- Don’t overpack the sandwich to prevent spillage during grilling.
- Experiment with cheeses like Swiss or pepper jack for variations.
- Serve immediately for the best melted cheese experience.
