- 3-4 pounds beef chuck roast
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Place the beef in the slow cooker and add sliced onions, carrots, potatoes, and minced garlic around it.
- Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.
- Remove the beef and vegetables, and serve with gravy.
Notes
- You can add celery or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- For a thicker gravy, remove the beef and vegetables, and simmer the cooking liquid on the stove until reduced.
