Ingredients
Scale
- 8 fresh or day-old croissants, sliced into pieces
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups of whole milk or heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh berries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. Arrange the sliced croissants evenly in the dish.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips generously over the croissant pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk or cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Pour the custard evenly over the croissants and chocolate.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
Notes
- Use day-old croissants for better absorption of the custard.
- Feel free to substitute dark chocolate or add nuts for extra texture.
- Adjust sweetness by varying sugar quantity to taste.
- Layer croissants and chocolate evenly for consistent bites.
