- 3 cups Chex cereal
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring constantly until the mixture boils. Boil for 2 minutes then remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla and sea salt.
- Pour the caramel sauce over Chex cereal and toss gently to coat evenly.
- Spread the coated cereal on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle toffee bits and nuts on top.
- Allow to cool and set before breaking into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Adjust sea salt for preference.
- Can substitute nuts with dried fruit for variation.
