Ingredients

  • 3 cups Chex cereal
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring constantly until the mixture boils. Boil for 2 minutes then remove from heat.
  3. Stir in vanilla and sea salt.
  4. Pour the caramel sauce over Chex cereal and toss gently to coat evenly.
  5. Spread the coated cereal on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Sprinkle toffee bits and nuts on top.
  7. Allow to cool and set before breaking into pieces.
