Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (3 oz) of cherry, raspberry, or grape flavored Jell-O
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- Fresh strawberries or grapes (for the eyeball base)
- Small candies or mini marshmallows (for the pupils)
- Food coloring (white, black, or red, optional)
- Edible gel or white glaze (to mimic the sclera)
- Additional decorative elements such as plastic eyeballs or gummy worms (optional)
Instructions
- Boil 1 cup of water and pour over the Jell-O powder in a mixing bowl. Stir until fully dissolved. Add 1 cup of cold water and stir well. Add food coloring if desired.
- Pour the Jell-O mixture into small, spherical silicone molds or ice cube trays. Chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours until fully set.
- Once set, insert small candies or mini marshmallows in the center to form the pupils. Use black food coloring or edible gel to paint the pupils. Add white glaze around the pupils if desired.
- Remove the Jell-O eyeballs carefully from molds and place on a serving platter.
- Drizzle red food coloring over the eyeballs for a bloodshot effect or to resemble veins. Decorate with plastic eyeballs or gummy worms for extra spookiness.
Notes
- Use spherical silicone molds for the most realistic eyeballs.
- Add food coloring to enhance the eerie effect—consider green, white, or blood-red.
- Embed edible insects or gummy bugs into the Jell-O for added gross-out factor.
- Keep the eyeballs chilled until serving to maintain their shape and appearance.
