- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Core the cabbage and carefully peel leaves, blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of the mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Arrange the rolls in a baking dish and spoon tomato sauce over the top.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until heated through.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with cooked lentils or quinoa.
- Serve with a side of crusty bread or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
