- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup whiskey
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Pour in whiskey, scraping up any browned bits, and simmer until reduced by half.
- Add heavy cream and Dijon mustard, stirring to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over, and simmer for 10 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a richer sauce, add a splash of whiskey during the final step.
- Pair with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
