Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup pecan halves, chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, sugar, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour, kneading until a soft dough forms. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix chopped pecans, brown sugar, and softened butter to make the filling.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each into a circle and spread with pecan filling.
- Roll up each dough circle to form a crescent shape and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Ensure milk is warm to activate yeast properly.
- Hatch the dough to avoid overworking, keeping rolls flaky.
- Optional drizzle with honey or glaze post-baking for extra sweetness.
