Golden Bliss Biscuits are the perfect morning melt, offering tender, flaky layers with a rich, buttery flavor. Ideal for breakfast or brunch, these easy butter swim biscuits are quick to prepare and irresistibly delicious. Enjoy them with honey, jam, or your favorite toppings for a delightful start to your day.

  • Total Time: 22-25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 biscuits

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
  • Optional: honey or jam for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt to create a fluffy base.
  2. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or fingertips, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk, gently stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be sticky but workable.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, fold a few times, then pat into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Cut out biscuits using a cutter or glass and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Brush the tops with melted butter. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and risen. Brush with additional butter if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter remains cold for flaky layers.
  • Do not overmix the dough to keep biscuits tender.
  • For extra flavor, add cheese, herbs, or dried fruits into the dough.
  • Serve warm with honey, jam, or a spread of butter.
