Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a ball and place them on a greased baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix minced garlic with a tablespoon of melted butter. Brush this mixture over the dough balls.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over each roll. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- Ensure yeast is fresh for best rising results.
- Can add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Great with marinara or as is for snacks.
