- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups (310g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until the dough forms.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch diameter logs and cut into 1/4-inch slices.
- Place slices on prepared baking sheets, spacing apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- Chill the dough logs for 30 minutes for easier slicing.
- You can decorate the cookies with a drizzle of chocolate or sprinkles if desired.
