Ingredients
- 1 cup of almond butter or natural peanut butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of coconut sugar or monk fruit sweetener
- 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder (gluten-free)
- Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped chocolate or chocolate chips for extra decadence
Instructions
- Start by preheating your waffle iron to ensure that it’s hot and ready for the batter, resulting in crisp brownie waffles.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond butter, eggs, and coconut sugar. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Add the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, salt, and baking powder, then whisk until well incorporated. Fold in chopped chocolate or chocolate chips if desired.
- Lightly grease the waffle iron if needed. Pour the batter into the center of the preheated waffle iron, spreading evenly. Close the lid and cook for approximately 4–6 minutes, or until the brownie waffles are crispy on the outside and cooked through inside.
- Carefully remove the waffles and serve hot with your favorite toppings like fresh berries, whipped cream, or melted chocolate. Best enjoyed immediately but can be stored for later use.
Notes
- For crispier waffles, cook a little longer but be careful not to burn.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor.
- Chocolate chips can be added just before cooking for extra decadence.
- Keep leftovers in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
