Creamy Ranch & Smoked Sausage Bake is the ultimate comfort food combining smoky sausage, cheesy potatoes, and creamy ranch flavor. Perfect for family dinners or gatherings, this hearty dish is easy to prepare and packed with flavor.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a large baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Boil sliced potatoes in salted water until just tender, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté smoked sausage slices in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crispy, then set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, mix ranch dressing, milk or heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to make the creamy sauce.
  5. Layer cooked potatoes and sausage in the baking dish. Pour the ranch mixture evenly over. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes, watching carefully.

Notes

  • Use low-fat ranch dressing and cheese for a lighter version.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
  • Choose leaner sausage options such as turkey sausage to reduce fat content.
