- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 8 oz pasta (rotini or ziti)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet, then add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook until softened.
- Transfer meat mixture to the crockpot. Add crushed tomatoes, broth, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Set crockpot to low and cook for 6-8 hours.
- Add pasta during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Stir and cook until tender.
- Serve hot, topped with shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and fresh basil.

- You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Use gluten-free pasta to make it gluten-free.
