- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 8 oz pasta (ziti or rotini)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet until cooked through. Drain excess grease.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Transfer to the crockpot.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, broth, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Add pasta during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Once pasta is tender, stir in shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan until melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

- Use Italian sausage for a spicier flavor.
- Chop the pasta into smaller pieces if desired for easier eating.
- Top with additional cheese or herbs for extra flavor.
