- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Olive oil for baking
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush a baking dish with olive oil.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with a mixture of bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- Place coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven, spoon marinara sauce over each chicken, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving with spaghetti or your preferred side.

- For extra crispiness, add a drizzle of olive oil over the breaded chicken before baking.
- You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts for extra juiciness.
- Use fresh mozzarella for a creamier texture or shredded for convenience.
