- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Hot pepper jelly for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, softened butter, cheddar cheese, egg yolk, and salt until a dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Use your thumb to create an indentation in each ball.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and fill each indentation with hot pepper jelly.
- Return to oven for 2-3 minutes to set the jelly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Feel free to swap the cheddar cheese for Monterey Jack or pepper Jack for extra spice.
- Ensure not to overfill with jelly to prevent overflowing during baking.
