- 1 large head of green cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef or chicken
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until pliable. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté diced onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- Mix cooked rice, ground meat, sautéed onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika in a bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
- Arrange cabbage rolls seam-side down in a baking dish and pour tomato sauce over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes until tender.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

- You can substitute ground turkey or plant-based protein for a lighter or vegetarian version.
- Adding a splash of lemon juice to the filling enhances flavor.
