- 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons paprika (sweet or smoked)
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 large tomatoes, chopped or 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add beef cubes and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add chopped onions and minced garlic; cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in paprika and caraway seeds; cook for 1 minute to release flavors.
- Add sliced bell pepper and chopped tomatoes; cook for another 5 minutes.
- Pour in beef broth, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the beef is tender.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- You can add potatoes or carrots for extra heartiness.
