Ingredients
- 2 large apples (preferably Honeycrisp or Fuji) peeled and diced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: powdered sugar, caramel sauce, or honey for serving
Instructions
- Peel and dice the apples into small pieces. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced apples with 1 tablespoon of sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In a small bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the apple mixture evenly.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, form small dollops of the batter and place them in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper or lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Cook in batches if needed.
- Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fritters are golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- Ensure the apple pieces are evenly coated for uniform texture.
- Preheat the air fryer for best crispiness.
- Avoid overcrowding the basket to allow proper air circulation.
- Lightly spray the batter with cooking spray before air frying for extra crunch.
